Seth Sandler, a student at UCSD, has posted his instructions and code for a cheap, simple, DIY multi-touch interface that uses ambient room light and a webcam (no IR cameras here). I haven’t taken a close look at the code yet, but it looks like a nice approach to building a multi-touch system for prototyping or other projects.
